SETAC Europe Young Scientist Award Winners

Every year, SETAC Europe presents the Young Scientist Awards for best poster and best platform presentations given by early career scientists during the SETAC Europe annual meeting. This year, the awards were presented during the closing session of the SETAC Basel meeting.

European Centre for Ecotoxicology and Toxicology of Chemicals (ECETOC) Best Platform Award

This year's ECETOC Best Platform Award honors an early career scientist with the best platform presentation at the SETAC Basel meeting.

The Young Scientist ECETOC Best Platform Award has been granted to Steffi Böhme for her presentation “Visualisation of Silver Nanoparticle Uptake by Laser Ablation – Inductively Coupled Plasma Mass Spectrometry.”

Tom Feijtel Best Poster Award

The Tom Feijtel Best Poster Award is sponsored by the Tom Feijtel Fund, established in memoriam of Tom Feijtel, who was a driving force for the advancement of environmental science within his company, Procter & Gamble, but was also a significant contributor to the science debates in ECETOC, the European Chemical Industry Council (CEFIC), the Long-range Research Initiative (LRI) and the European Union.

This year's award honors an early career scientist with the best poster presentation held at the SETAC Basel meeting.

The Young Scientist Tom Feijtel Best Poster Award has been granted to Deedar Nabi for his presentation “Mapping Partitioning Properties and Bioaccumulation Potential onto GC×GC Chromatograms of Complex Mixtures Containing Nonpolar Analytes.”

Both award winners are invited to the SETAC Europe 25th Annual Meeting, which will be held from 3–7 May in Barcelona, Spain.
