It is with deep sadness that I inform you of the passing of our friend, colleague and long-time member of SETAC, Dr. Peter Delorme on 18 February 2012 due to a brain aneurysm.
Peter received his doctorate in ecotoxicology from the University of Manitoba, Canada and worked for the Pest Management Regulatory Agency of Health Canada since 1995, most recently as Director of Product Regulation in the Environmental Assessment Directorate. Peter's intelligence, passion for science and strong advocacy for science-based regulation resulted in major contributions to pesticide science and regulation in Canada and beyond. Peter loved going to SETAC meetings and attended as often as possible, sometimes on his own time and expense. Peter was well known, liked and respected by colleagues from all over the world and will be much missed.
Peter leaves behind his wife Denise Doherty-Delorme and their three boys, Everett (20), Christian (17) and Sébastien (10).
